SURF Burton College @ Free Range - An Open Message

'The new group dedicated directly to those who are involved with the Burton College 2010 Free Range Show.

We have decided a theme for the entire collective works, after a group discussion we agreed that 'Catalogue' would allow each of us creative freedom to produce individual work that we were passionate about. All the group asks is that the word 'Catalogue' is used in the title of your work. So if you like taking photos of trees then perhaps call it 'The Catalogue of Amazing Pine Wood' or simply 'Tree Catalogue'...

There are no group rules as such but we will demand that everyone gets an opinion and any final decisions must pass through a collective vote.
No vote should be made without at least half (around 8-10 people) in attendance. Group meetings are therefore critical and everyone should do their best to attend. If attendance is a problem for some people we may try other solutions to get us all together such as an online chat.
If you put yourself into this project then you are putting yourself forwards as a member of the team. Any differences the group has needs to be put aside, we need to help each other and have each others back. There is no Queen Bee and we all have a job to do whether it is gathering funds, choosing paint or producing some of the best work you have ever made!

Anyone who has volunteered for a job must commit themselves to it. Think of this as the final project at Burton College; the big finale; a representation of all the amazing work we have produced; think of this as your love child.

I believe we can make something really special here, stand out at Free Range, and surprise all of our tutors with the amount of effort we put in.'
